Fans, Roadies, Countrymen was the first studio album from the Stickers. Rangy and experimental in a finding-the-band sort of way, this one’s got it all: funky bass, growling vocals, soaring guitars, quiet folkiness and a long, long (and true) story song (Daddy’s Little Girl).
While consistency and focus may not be the strong points of this album I stand by many of these songs and enjoy them still today. The middle child of my time in Madison, this album tells alot about the musical culture in much of Madison in the late 90s. Originally released with a book of all lyrics and trippy cover art by Chris Ash.
The band:
Jeff Gilbertson – Keys
Chris Ash – Bass
Mike Bonebrake – Drums
Lee Chato – Lead Guitar
Joe Song – Rhythm Guitar
Additional production by Jeremy Teigen
