At work, we were talking about HTML 5 vs Flash, video specifically, and I said, “I agree, of course, that HTML 5 is on the way up and is a sort of sword of Damocles for a lot of what we know now about building sites. But, keep in mind that by most counts the majority of visitors are still on IE, those poor suckers. IE9 _might_ support this video sort of thing but until everyone gets up to IE9, which if released in 2011, might be the baseline of our a-grade browsers by 2018, we are going to have to offer our content in parallel paths. This will get easier, of course, but I don’t think the Adobe execs are mainlining Ambien yet. Well, maybe recreationally.”
