I’ve been waiting for this record.

When Joe E. took me to the Mates Of State show at the Varsity I really liked how grating the keyboard was. I thought my ears would explode. So, I was eagerly awaiting the new record after consuming the old ones.

During the wait they said their producer was making them sound like Queen, which I guess means using piano instead of keyboard, but it sounds like them to me.

You can’t get the standing-in-a-crowded-room-after-some-crappy-band-holding-a-tallboy-hearing-new-awesome-stuff feeling on a record, so you have to appreciate the separate for the separate, but it is good. There’s some baby stuff and guest stars and what not, but it really feels like a continuation from the last record.
